1) Learn the difference between decorators and designers.

Anyone can become a decorator and by I mean is someone who loves playing with colours, patterns. No educational background is required for being a decorator. Anyone can become a decorator by printing business cards and promoting themselves.

But for being a designer you need an educational background for example a bachelor's degree to practice interior designing.

2) Having a knack for design, considering the customers need and then implementing you ideas artistically is very important in this field.

3) If you are just starting out as interior designer the salary may not be as high as you think, but soon as you gain experience and people start recognizing your work money won't be problem anymore.
